We collect only what a homestay needs to host you and to meet the law, nothing more.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number, email address and stay dates when you make an enquiry or booking.
  • Government ID details and, where required by law, a scanned copy, collected at check-in.
  • Payment reference details. We never store full card numbers or UPI credentials.

Why we collect it

  • To confirm and service your booking, prepare meals and raise your invoice.
  • To meet the guest-register and police-reporting requirements applicable to homestays in Maharashtra.
  • To send you booking confirmations, reminders and, only if you agree, occasional offers.

Who can see it

  • Only the owner and authorised staff of Shalgar Villa, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Government authorities where disclosure is required by law.
  • We never sell, rent or trade guest data.

How long we keep it & your rights

  • Booking and invoice records are kept as long as tax law requires; ID scans are deleted after the statutory retention period.
  • Write to us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you.
  • Our website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your booking form.

  • Photographs on this website are of Shalgar Villa itself.
  • We do not publish photographs of guests without their written consent.
